    We’re excited to host The Shneck: Understanding the Cervico–Shoulder Complex, taught by Dr. Jess Elis, PT, DPT, PhD, FAAOMPT, OCS, SCS, CSCS.This 18-CEU, course gives clinicians a clear, applied framework for evaluating and treating the neck–shoulder interplay. If you work with overhead athletes, active adults, or any patient living in the “is it the neck or the shoulder?” gray zone, this weekend will sharpen the way you assess, load, and reason through complex presentations.

    Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation: Patterns and Techniques for Orthopedic Rehabilitation

    This course is intended to provide students with focused instruction and hands-on practice of selected PNF movement techniques and patterns of facilitation, which can be implemented as treatment strategies for the management of various orthopedic injuries and/or dysfunction. Students will gain an understanding of the history and development of the PNF approach to rehabilitation, as well as learn the foundational philosophies and basic principles of this method. Throughout this course, students will review selected movement techniques and patterns of facilitation applied at the pelvis, scapula, neck, and the extremities, and will participate in guided practice to enhance psychomotor skill development.

    The Many Faces of Sports Physical Therapy

    Sports physical therapy is practiced in a wide variety of settings. Many physical therapists would like to become involved in the field but often either believe that the opportunities are too limited or are just unsure how to get involved. This session will enable participants to hear the varied backgrounds and settings of many current sports physical therapists, including those involved with international competition, professional sports, NCAA Division I athletics, academics, pediatrics, tactical athletes research, and private practice. Each therapist has a unique background and path to their current position and will provide insight into current and future opportunities in sports physical therapy.

    The Human Pelvis: Crossroads of Function

    The program consists of a combination of lectures and guided labs that will incorporate an evidence-based approach to allow participants to use current research to solve patient care and rehabilitation issues related to pelvic girdle pathology, movement screening and treatment-based classification of patients with lower back pain and/or lower extremity dysfunction. Participants will receive instruction encompassing pelvic girdle evaluation tools, including but not limited to SIJ provocation testing and movement screening clusters.
